Description

Transformational Breathwork is a powerful form of breathwork that involves deep, continuous breathing on music for an hour or longer. This technique can help individuals to access deep states of relaxation and meditation, release emotional blockages and trauma, and tap into their inner wisdom and intuition. From a scientific perspective, this practice can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for the "rest and digest" response. This shift in the nervous system can reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and promote feelings of calm and relaxation. By increasing oxygenation in the body, breathwork can also help release tension and pain, boost immunity, and improve sleep quality. From a spiritual perspective, conscious connected breathwork can help you access altered states of consciousness and connect with your higher self or the divine (whatever this looks like to you). This can lead to profound insights, revelations, and emotional release as you tap into your subconscious mind and allow your intuition to guide you. By focusing on the breath, you can also learn to quiet the chatter of the mind and cultivate a sense of inner peace and stillness. People come to transformational breathwork for a variety of reasons. Some are seeking relief from anxiety, depression, or chronic stress. Others are looking to overcome trauma, heal past wounds, or gain clarity on their life purpose. Or they are looking to reconnect to their inspiration, creativity, playfulness and sensuality. And still, others simply want to deepen their spiritual practice and connect with something bigger than themselves, or experience oneness. CONTRAINDICATIONS Breathwork is safe, but take responsibility for your own well-being. AVOID intense breathwork when you have any of these contraindications: ​ • Cardiovascular disease • Heart attacks, high blood pressure, and angina • Glaucoma or retinal detachment • Recent injury or surgery • History of Panic attacks or psychosis • Seizures • Severe mental illness • Aneurysms (or family history) • Pregnancy or breastfeeding PREPARATIONS • Bring a yoga mat and/or blanket • Wear comfortable clothes. • Optional: Bring journal/paper & pen. • Optional: Reflect on your "why" for the session. • It works best on an empty stomach (I suggest not eating 2 hours before). • Don’t join if you’re under the influence of alcohol or drugs. • Don't plan anything too intense afterward, give yourself some time to relax & integrate.
